Well to be honest, Nintendo hasn't done anything to put its mark in the video game world for a while. There has been no big innovation, no "adult" games, no sense of "I must buy this counsel just to have this game".
They tapped into a market of casual gamers and party games. They took all the games of Japan that involved the mundane and passed it off as something to pass the time (while leaving the good Japanese games behind. How many Lego games do you need, really?
Meanwhile, I'm tempted to pick up a counsel just to play "Last of Us" or "Heavy Rain" or a bunch of other games I really wish would come out on PC!
If you have fun with Nintendo then have fun. However, I haven't touched a Wii since it came out and every time I see a game that gets released for the big three I always read that that the one with the big "N" on it has the graphics parred waaaay down.
So I don't see Nintendo included in the gaming world that makes a difference other than for low end gamers or party people.
