Good to see the LAN is going to happen Friday.  Should be fine for me seeing as I will be driving up Wednesday morning (got the day off, woot!).  And is John Carter serious about me coming in....is it a tarp?

Anywho if he is I might be able to make it there by lunchtime Wednesday.

On a side note, anyone play Quake Wars yet?   That might be a pretty fun LAN game to add to the list.  I have played it a total of 5 minutes and it was fun the whole time!  Just like...

For what it's worth, Briney, you do have an incredibly disturbing array of Hoff pictures.

It looks like Friday is our final date, then!  Since Mere and I have a TV in the living room now, we may have to spread out a bit.  Don't forget to bring tables!  I think I still have somebody's folding table from several years back, but I'll have to look to make sure.  If I have it, it will be there on Friday.

Quake Wars might work, but I'm just barely scraping by on the CPU requirement:

Quote:
Quake Wars Requirements
Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz or AMD Athlon XP 2800+ processor
512 MB RAM (768 MB RAM for Windows Vista)
128 MB NVIDIA Geforce 5700 or ATI Radeon 9700 with OpenGL 2.0 drivers
DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
750 MB of free hard drive space

I'm still using my crappy AMD Athlon XP 3000+, so I'm not sure how well it's going to run.  I'll download it and give it a try, though!

It sounds like just about everybody is coming.  Here's the list of LANners so far...

  • Briney
  • Eric
  • Stewie
  • Spanky
  • Corey
  • b0b
  • Rodney

I don't remember if Stick has posted yet or not, but I'll scroll back and look.

We rarely play more than three games, so five is probably a good number.  We'll inevitably have to wait for someone to install each and every game anyway.

For instance, I know I'm going to have to copy somebody's UT2k4 install file because my legal version never works with everybody's pirated version.

If Stick is coming,  I can pretty much guarantee that Quake Wars isn't going to work on his lapper.

I think we should focus on TF2, Empire Earth, Call of Duty, and UT2004.  Quake Wars is probably going to be wholly dependent on who shows up.

Tell them to bring friends!  Also wii sports?  You really want to go 3 rounds with me in wii boxing and then watch me pass out/die on the floor.  Again I ask, do you want my heart attack on your conscience?

We've got four Wii controllers and four nunchuks, so the Wii should be ready for four players.  Mere and I have downloaded a fair number of Virtual Console titles, too, so those are available for play.

The only problem with the Wii and the TV is the location.  The TV is sitting to the right of the fireplace in the living room, so it won't be very accessible if everybody is setup in the living room.

I can probably move the Wii back into the office and hook it up to the Ghettotron 4000 TV in there.

Wow, Mere and I really need to invest in a house.  This apartment is getting smaller every day!

It'll be a Patrick sandwich!  You might have to fight Jamie over one of those spots...or I could just be annoying and drive her away.  It'd be worth it to see Bob move his computer.
