I'm kinda glad Bay is going for a different approach.

While the cartoon Transformers were kick ass, I'm not sure how well a movie where a Semi Truck and gun turn into giant fighting robots would go over.

I'd rather see the futuristic robot look going on.  Same thing with X-Men, they deviated fromthe cartoon and comics, but the movies still rocked.

Stop being a douche.

Michael Bay is not good with romance... Ill admit. But theres Bad Boys 1+2, the Rock, Armageddon, and the Island. Those movies just exist to wow us with unnecessary explosions and emphasis on action over anything else, including good writing.

Now just who else on earth could direct a transformers movie like that? Is that not what you want? I dont want to see some touchy storyline that delves deep into human emotions. I want to see some transformers kick some arse! And only Michael Bay can deliver.

I hope you didn't mean X-Men 3 when you were talking about the movies rocking.  They screwed that one up so bad I wanted to punch a pregnet woman in the stomack.

While I'll agree with Briney slightly on the movies he's done before I think this time it's different.  This isn't an original idea.  You have to have some loyalty to the original franchise.  For example, if Optimus Prime isn't a good guy then I hope Bay bought himself stoning insurance.  I just don't want the entire movie to be 2 minutes of built up plot and then the rest putting to shame the scene in Predator where they're blasting away at the jungle unnecessarily (for you trivia buffs out there the director did that as a poking fun at action movies...however many people did not get the joke he says).  The Island is a perfect example of that, no real plot...just explostions and "futuristic vehicles" for nothing (not to mention it was ripped off from a bad sci-fi movie that MST3K made fun of (Part: The Clonus Horror)).

I will not argue on The Rock however...that movie had everything...a plot, action, and explostions (however the ferrari breaks its front window and then in the next scene is magically fixed).

Yeah, I can't believe Briney used The Island as an example of a good Michael Bay film.  That movie sucked harder than an 8lb Oreck XL.
